So scared

They are firing shots in the vineyards to scare the starlings away that are not even here, so much louder than the years before (seems to not have worked before, so just do the nonsense louder), and my dog is in a constant state of horror. 

She refuses to leave the house any more, and driving somewhere at least 20 minutes from here doesn't always prove successful. The fear is ever-present.

I am so much looking forward to September being over, hoping that they will stop the shooting in October. 

Way too often in my life I "hope that month is over soon", "hope that work week is over", "hope the day is over soon". I am also just as scared as my dog is, only about other things than her.
