Open Water...Spring!

The Kenai River runs through the town of Soldotna, which is 10 miles from our house. This river is famous for the biggest King Salmon, and people come from many parts of the world to try and catch one. The record size was 97 pounds, and it was caught by a local old timer who has since passed away.

I went to the bridge to take a photo of the ice chunks, but it turned out these 2 loons were there diving for their dinner.
