French Flan and Coffee!

Pretty smooth journey down the M20 to Folkestone and very happy to use the Flexi ticket on the Eurotunnel for the first time - basically turn up whenever you want on the day of travel and take the first train. This was good as we woke up a lot later than we had expected! Then on to our traditional first ‘Aire’ stop and a piece of flan and a cup of coffee pour celebrer notre arrivé en France. After that it was the rather tiring 300 mile drive to just outside Orléans where we arrived on a campsite which had all the facilities but presented some challenges in the dark. I’d rather not go into detail on my experiences but let’s put it this way - the combo shower and toilet had no paper and I narrowly avoided getting soaked trying to improvise and I am still sitting in damp shorts. The new van is proving to be a really wonderful upgrade and so all in all incredibly grateful for this marvellous experience - tomorrow onward to the South of France!
