Glorious sunset...

Busy again today.
Most of it spent sorting out and tagging calves. They all have to be double tagged before they are 27 days old and registered on a Scottish database called ScotEID. They then send you an A4 piece of paper ,a cattle passport. It shows all the details, date of birth, sex, breed, mothers and fathers ear tag numbers.
And every time the beast moves off the farm ,is sold or goes somewhere else, the movements have to be notified on the computer.
I sometimes think we know more about where my cattle have been than half the folk in the UK!
Went away to feed the heifers down the road ,then back home to start carting in some of the oat bales as it wasn't dry enough to bale any more straw.
It was a glorious sun set tonight. My phone doesn't do it justice. Any way,it's funny how the small things like this can make you feel contented in your job( briefly)
