Catacombe

Into Naples to stay in a hotel near the airport for our flight home tomorrow morning.
We managed to catch the last tour of the day at the Naples Catacombes.
A brilliant thing to see, and very atmospheric. Massive caverns cut into the rock with alcoves for the corpses.in the walls and floors - thousands of them. They say that there are many more parts that still have to be excavated - just waiting for funds.
Not a single bone though - they have all been removed to another catacombe in Naples. Liz says that we will visit the bones next time we are here.
