‘Tiny Transistor’

I’ve had this since I was a teenager, 1961, I think!

A tiny handheld radio like this really was quite a novelty in those days, and this model was about as small as they came! It fits easily into a shirt pocket.

The extra shows the innards, including six transistors which are pretty small too. 

It’s a Toshiba Model 6TP-354 and came complete with a single earpiece as well. It used to produce a surprisingly good sound from its tiny speaker. Nowadays, unfortunately, all it produces is a series of crackles.

But it’s still nice to have!
