I drove to Keswick, bought another tin of stain block, had breakfast at Booths, walked along to Crow Park and took some photos by the lake, took some sports equipment to Oxfam and was home by 10.30.

A mug of tea and change of clothes then I started painting again. The ceiling now looks much better and I did the downstairs toilet one too, marked from the shower leak last year.

Once that was finished I spent an hour on the sofa watching the end of today’s Tour of Britain stage.

I also collected an envelope from the solicitors office containing documents to read and sign. They can wait for a day or two.
