Selflessness

We had a special request last Sunday from our daughter-in-law for one of Smithers’s renowned bread and butter puddings. 

She came today with our youngest granddaughter, whom we were looking after for a few hours while her sister was at school. We had a lovely time with H, although it has to be said she slept for most of the afternoon, having been up since 4.45 am! When it was time for her to go home, Grandpa very graciously handed over his culinary masterpiece to Mummy, (which also happens to be one of his own favourites), having not eaten a single mouthful. 

I really ought to bake one for him to make up for it but, then again, he does it so much better than me ... ;-)
