“Dad Day”
I pencilled in today as “Dad Day”. I needed to set aside time for a forensic review of Dad’s financial position to work out what further can be reduced, and where we might be in a few months time. Thus the pen in hand.
My father is a couple of months younger than the Queen. He is more infirm than she is, with four carers visits a day and a lady from Age Concern for a few hours over four days of the week. The ladies from the care company and T from Age Concern are great, he’s in good hands.
Meanwhile the Queen has had visitors today. The British version of democracy is a strange thing. We have a new prime minister chosen by 0.17% of the electorate, who shuffles people around into new ministerial positions. All European countries and governments face huge challenges in coming months, but I am deeply sceptical about the intended direction of travel of this “new” regime of old faces.
