Rain on and off in the morning. Out at noon to opticians.  Out again later to walk to the bank in George Street, since the nearer branch closed. To London Road, then Broughton. Spits of rain as we got the tram at St Andrews Square. Heavy rain started as we were walking back from Haymarket. 
Then there was a real thunderstorm - not much lightning to see. Some very heavy plumps of rain. All cleared off by mid evening.
