Mr. DeMille, I’m Ready for My Close-Up…

This dazzling gazania enjoyed today’s morning sun. I’ve been keeping an eye on this one with a view for this coming FlowerFriday. But we’re meant to have heavy rains then, so it won’t be looking as perky — today, however, she’s ready for her close-up.

I removed a small snail, no bigger than a pinkie fingernail, from her petals the other day but it had already had a light snack. So, like the silent movie star Norma Desmond in the movie Sunset Boulevard, this gazania’s best days are behind her.

As for the title of this blip, do you remember the beginning of the quote? It could have been written with some of us Blippers in mind:
“This is my life. It always will be. Nothing else…just us. The camera…and those wonderful people out there in the dark.”

Just joking. There’s more to life than Blip of course, and today has been full of the other stuff.
