Fallen Giant

C found this Eastern Giant Swallowtail butterfly, or what remains of it, in the yard this morning. This is it's underside. If you look closely you'll see that something has eaten the soft body parts, probably ants. That must have happened after this Giant passed on because the wings are still in beautiful condition. So impressive, even in death.
