Happy hill walkers

With a mixed weather forecast for the day we decided to just go for it. Our aim was the Old Man of Coniston, with options along the way if the weather was awful. We got up to Levers Water - our first target- and the cloud clung low and the rain came. I was left to call the retreat with my pal being ever optimistic that the clouds were blowing over.
We headed down and out of the rain, watched some shepherds rounding up the sheep off the hillside . And then - the clouds lifted, the sun came out and we turned round and headed back up the hill. Took a different route and walked back in to the cloud to the top for the Old Man. But at least the rain had stopped. No views from the top, but great once down below those pesky clouds.
A grand day out. Happy and tired.
