Foundation

You’re thinking what is this fool blipping now? This dear blippers is the hole dug and frame made awaiting the concrete to be poured, all 31 tonnes of it, to form the foundation base for our 15m high tower which will carry our new Wind Turbine.
Why you may ask? Well this forms part of our new Low Carbon Heat system we have designed and built to power and heat our offices and workshop. Apart from this we have 30kW of Solar PV on our roof and a large (very) battery to store our harvested energy when it is not powering our new Air Source Heat Pumps. It all replaces a 55 year old oil guzzling boiler which chewed through £20k of oil every year and spewed out 40 tonnes of CO2, what’s not to like!
Apart from benefitting ourselves we hope to use it to show others what can be achieved in older thermally inefficient buildings so we can help make the world that little bit greener.
