The Ninth Child
I spent this morning dealing with paperwork and making the sort of phone calls which put one's blood pressure up. This afternoon I decided to read this book right to the end. The author Sally Magnusson is giving a talk about writing it to our local Heritage Society in a couple of weeks's time. I've borrowed it from the library and promised to take it back promptly to allow others to borrow it. It's set in the 1850s against the background of building the pipeline which supplies Glasgow with water from Loch Katrine. The pipeline passes through our village.
