Our first rhododendron

This is the first flowering rohododendron from our new rhododendron garden bed at OGH. 

It is a Whibley hybrid, produced as a result of a programme of hybridising rhododendrons by David Whibley during the 1920s. Being a local guy, he made them suitably hardy for the summer heat of the Adelaide hills.
