Starting The Leak Blocks

Forecast is too good not to carry out this headache of a job. A job that has been niggling away at us for sometime now. A leaky concrete slabbed garage. Not the cleverest of designs when comes to rain repellence, but using the bricks we had that the house "came with", we decided to attack the garage with an (hopefully) ingenious plan....

The floor has been heavily PVA'd and both entrances curbed with cement & tantalised wood to prevent further future flooding. The single layer brick layout will hopefully provide a barrier plus a little strength for the crumblier/weaker slabs. The half inch cavity between the bricks & slabs  will allow me to pour two tins of glorious Isoflex to provide (hopefully) the ultimate seal. I know one will be wondering why use roof stuff for the floor.... Well, knowing how well this liquid rubber stuff works as it tends to "find and fill" gaps of any shape and size, it was only a matter of why not, I'm 99% sure it'll work well. Time will tell of course, and within that time we need a new roof and floor to be self levelled (two jobs for next year). Also, the wall on the left needs to be strengthened with extra bricks/breeze blocks at some point.

Polishing a turd? Sometimes one has too.....
