2811. Mexican Chicken Chinga
This was our lunch today and it was delicious!
I set off for the bus to get to my camera club in the pouring rain but after waiting 40 minutes for two buses that didn’t turn up I decided to give up and come home…made an essential course of action after a car deliberately drove through the flooded area near the kerb right by the bus stop and soaked all of the people waiting. I’d had difficulty crossing the road to get to the bus stop because the water was so deep near the kerbs. I looked like I had been wading in deep water by the time I got home!
The flooding in our area has been widespread and one of our local pubs, The Cherrybank Inn posted dreadful video of their flooded areas all around the pub. They’ve spent a fortune doing it all up and creating new seating areas and most of it is under water at the moment.
There is a helicopter flying over us at the moment, no doubt trying to see how widespread the damage is.
We heard news this morning that Queen Elizabeth II is not doing so well and her family have been summoned to Balmoral Castle. It will be the end of an era when she passes and even though I am not the biggest fan of the Royal Family, she and her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh have served our country well.
And so our new Boris Johnson clone of a Prime Minister has announced support for people facing crippling fuel and food bills, not by taxing the companies making billions of pounds of profit but by borrowing yet more money and making the tax payer fund it all. We are in despair, what a terrible thing has befallen our country where so many people face being in poverty, how can this be?
