Dokkum - A Star Shaped Town
After a heavy rain fall during the night it’s a warm sunny morning with more people and barge watching.
Moving on today the route was across the causeway mentioned yesterday, the A7. We crossed here a few years ago and believe it was part of a big plan to prevent flooding where a hundred years ago many had died. On towards Harlingen, a pretty town to drive through, when looking for a MH service point. Eventually, with the help of traffic police we found the aire and service point, a wonderful spot to boat watch although we had a quick coffee, serviced the van and on to Dokkum, one of those Star Shaped towns found in Europe. A fine historic area with innovative architecture, bicycles coming from all directions and people with dogs on leads. And I can now order a decaf coffee for two, possibly.
