Down on the farm

Perhaps if the animals on the farm had been as quiet, well behaved and as clean as these ones then I might have followed the family tradition of farming.

Actually no chance. They would need to have been able to milk themselves, clean their pens and generally fend for themselves. My best gift to animal welfare was to leave the farming to others and turn to teaching instead.
