Plover

A great deal of energy goes into the conservation of plovers here on Cape Cod.  Some tourists take offense because it has led to the closure of beaches when nesting birds are threatened, but these spirited little shorebirds are such a pleasure to see.  I believe this is the semi-palmated version, perhaps a juvenile.
