Be Real

Did I mention that a few weeks ago I bumped into an old friend of mine while I was in Kendal? Well, anyway, I did, and he said he'd email me so that we could arrange to go for lunch.

I didn't hear from him for a few weeks, and I assumed he'd forgotten, but last week he got in touch and we arranged to go for lunch, today. There he is, pictured in my Extra, which is a photo lifted from BeReal, which is the only bit of social media I'm really using now, having (largely) weaned myself off Twitter and Instagram.

I like BeReal: the conceit is that once a day, at a random time, all users get a simultaneous notification, prompting them to post a picture of what they're doing right then. The 'being real' aspect is that you don't post pictures from fancy locations or whatever. Unless you are somewhere fancy, I suppose.
