Classic Boat Festival

St Katherine’s Dock are hosting a “ three day boating extravaganza “ from today til Sunday. However I think the decision may have been made to tone it down on the first day as there was no sign of the workshops, live music and talks that were mentioned in the publicity. That said I made the most of the fact it was quieter than I had expected. Lots of boats, including Arthur Ransome’s  Nancy Blackett which was rescued and restored by it’s current owner; Portwey , the last coal fired steam tug and a few Dunkirk Little Ships, one of which is my Blip. The extra is Havengore which was used to carry Sir Winston Churchill from Tower Pier to Festival Pier as part of his State Funeral.
