Preparations

Preparations were under way at Holyrood at lunchtime. The tourists were quietly milling around and a few bunches of flowers had been left. All the roads around Holyrood and the Royal Mile have been closed to traffic, adding to Edinburgh’s gridlocked state. 

I heard church bells ringing in the morning but completely missed a 96 gun salute!
