Condolences

I awoke to the very sad news that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had passed away. Not unexpected given her advanced age and recent health issues, but it seemed to happen so quickly after seeing picture of her earlier in the week in front of the fireplace at Balmoral.

Regardless of your opinions on royalty, Queen Elizabeth II was a remarkable woman. A positive role model of service and devotion, a calm and reassuring presence nationally and globally, a woman of considerable, often overlooked and underestimated talents.

I don’t consider myself to be a staunch royalist however, I found myself shedding more than a few tears when I first heard the news. It’s the end of an era. Rest in peace your majesty.
