Starball

The ball used in the UEFA Champions League is apparently known as the 'starball' and is consistent with their excellent star marque. It is overall an exercise in marketing and branding, and a very good case study at that. While there's room for criticism - it's a misnomer for a start, as it's not just champions, and it's not all league, but that aside, if the team I support is in it, there's nowhere I'd rather be than at the game. Further, it's appointment to view tv for a big game - I'm blipping during Barcelona-Bayern Munich. From the marque to the theme, and all points in between and beyond, it's cracking branding - hyped too it maybe as a competition, but I'm going back to watching it immediately.
