Fruits de Mer

Went for a run on the beach this morning then we drove down around the corner into Brittany, stopping at the small fishing port of Le Vivier Sur Mer, just a bit to the west of Mont St Michel. We haven't been here before - it's no longer "on the sea" & it's not fishing as we know it. We were lucky enough to see a number of boats come in, the smaller ones being pulled up the track across the marshes by tractors, the larger ones self propelled. We've seen some of the traditional fisheries around Brittany before but nothing on this scale - it's a pity we don't eat shellfish, as there are plenty of opportunities for the public to buy direct around here!
