Ionian kingfisher

A wonderful coastal walk north of Lixouri alongside aubergine coloured prickly pears. Magically I saw a kingfisher swooping down a trickle of stream water and resting awhile on the rocky shore, and the greenest of frogs sploshing, but not croaking, in the shallow puddles. Quite a Gerald Durrell day. Oh and a beach marten.
