Changes

The wet leaves on the steps going off the back porch. A good rain today and much cooler. I love watching the leaves fall but this is the only tree in the yard changing color.

Today is Mary Oliver’s birthday so since she is my favorite Piet a few lines from a favorite poem.

“Around me the trees stir their leaves
and call out, “stay awhile.”

And they call again, “it’s simple,” they say, “and you too have come
Into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled with light, and to shine.”
