Mini reunion

Today Jon and I spent a lovely afternoon and evening in the company of some our oldest friends from our Venture Scout days. That was after Jon had spent an hour in mum's loft changing the arm and ballcock on the water tank. Not as straightforward as it should have been, but eventually stopped any leaks, and we will check it in the morning.

So then we headed up the road to pick up Lynn, en route to Isabel's mums. Hopeful of a big gathering in Hoddesdon, we were disappointed throughout the day by a succession of messages from people who couldn't make it for one reason or another. Unfortunate, but it didn't spoil our day, and the afternoon was non stop chatter. As Lynn left late afternoon, she passed the baton to Martin who had been working in London until 4 and was with us by 5.30. We were so pleased he had been able to join us as it is a very long time since Isabel, Martin, Jon and I had spent time all together - I think perhaps our wedding in 1989. And so we talked, and talked....and talked, until 11pm. We had some food, some drink, and really just a lovely time.

Thank you Isabel, Liz and Kathi for letting us share your lovely home once again; for being fantastic hosts and above all friends. It is always such a pleasure to spend time with old friends. Isabel and Lynn, you are the best x
