Acrobat

New birds came to the sunflowers this morning: lesser goldfinches. It was interesting to watch them mingle with the house finches--little bits of color flitting around. Sometimes you can't find the birds, except when they set the stalks in motion, crazily bouncing up and down.

It rained a few drops while we were taking advantage of the cloud cover to work outside. Mr S got one of the vegetable beds ready for fall planting, and I crawled around doing some long deferred maintenance--deadheading, trimming, pulling out things that didn't make it through the heat wave. It really has been a long time since I worked outside and I've missed it.
