The wonderful wood
Beautiful evening (and day) today. I finally got to enjoy it late on in the afternoon, after a fair few stresses and strains earlier in the day!
Just now I was feeling terrible about the sad loss of a 40 plus years old grove of fir trees on a fellow blipper's post. It was a home for wildlife like eagles, owls, rabbits and coyotes and a reassuring presence on the hillside - cherished by the blipper who could see it from their home. Now somebody has torn it down to clear the way for more monoculture and a few extra acres of whatever crop. Reading about it made me go back and look at the photos I'd taken this evening in my nearby wood. Thank goodness for the trees and woodland we still have.
