Truly Blippin' Marvelous

Camel time

at El Morro National Monument, NM. It's been four years due to the pandemic (they come just every second year). He was talking about hybrid camels : they're fertile, unlike mules; one camel can carry up to 700 - 1000lbs (one mule is only capable of toting 350lbs max.) and they "eat anything the grows above your knee" i.e. anything but grass so they're cheap to keep.  The book is a copy of Beale's Camel Corps journal. This fellow has a ten acre farm in Texas (or should that be 'ranch'?) where he breeds them. He has a music degree, hence the guitar, but has been talking about camels for twenty years and has been coming to El Morro since 2014 so this is his fourth visit. Sorry I don't have his name . . .

I've over one hundred snaps of my two hour hike over the rock to edit and post at the other place (Flickr) . . . tomorrow, Sunday. Many computer glitches because I think stuff was trying to update and that frustrated me . . .
