Close to home ....
Yesterday's blip birthday was taken at home . This one is close to home - the little community of the Clachan of Glendaruel which is about four miles from us . Cathleen became the Head Teacher of the Primary School here almost exactly thirty years ago, which is why we moved to the area.
Our house - the eponymous Feorlean which we will have lived in for thirty years this December - is equidistant between the Clachan and Colintraive and we have a foot in both communities. Our phone number is a Glendaruel one, but we vote in Colintraive.
For must purposes the communities group together into what is known as Col-Glen - that is for example the name of the shinty team. But there can still be tensions and equal representation on things like the community council is a given, even though sometimes it is hard to achieve.
I managed to get this shot before the rain started. Those who visit my journal will have realised that I bought a wee drone about six weeks ago and am slowly learning how to fly it. This was its first deployment away from the house and surrounding area and it was, in part at least, being used to take pictures of the site for the new poly tunnel that the Colintraive and Glendaruel Community Development Trust is putting up on the edge of the community owned forest.
This view is roughly south west from that site. My first extra photo is looking north, along the rest of the Glen and the second is the pilot at work!
