‘The Cortege Passes by....’

As the cortege carrying the Queen’s coffin on the first part of its final journey - from Balmoral to Edinburgh - was passing close to where we lived this afternoon, we decided to go up to join the crowd of onlookers on Queensferry Road. 

As it passed, there was some sporadic clapping followed by a palpable hush, and then it was all over, but not before I had managed a quick photo of the coffin draped with the Scottish version of the Royal Standard flag.
