Paying our respects

We got up early this morning to catch a train into town.

We walked up The Mall to Buckingham Palace. It was a respectful atmosphere at the gates and, as it was early, was not horrendously busy. However, by the time we left around 10:30am (quite urgently as the smallest of the three of us needed the loo) it was getting very busy indeed.

We went back to Charing Cross through St James’s Park (where the pelicans were putting on a show) and via Pizza Express for lunch.

Good to bear witness to history a little bit today.
