Teeny Snail on Sage (a photo not a menu option)
"It rained and it rained"
Busy and emotional.
Bit like the weather!
Funny day. Very wet. Little things going wrong, Ben's shoes sprung holes so I had to lace a spare pair quickly to prevent wet toes. I keep spare shoes, if I'm organised(!) and spare elastic laces for these sorts of situations. He can wear through the toes of a pair of shoes in just a couple of days because he dances on his toes continually. It's fine in the summer when even a bit of a shower probably won't get him cold and miserable but in the autumn and winter I have to be a bit more on it! Then he tried to zip his coat up and got the zip mis-aligned and was too cross for me to take the time I needed to try to mend it. In the end his teacher sorted it, so that was a win.
I had a quote for a new front door. Aren't doors expensive?? And then had a carer's assessment from our local carer support team. It was really nice to talk to someone who understood our difficulties and who reinforced that our lack of support really isn't OK but it has left me feeling quite low that we really aren't getting what we and he needs. Sigh. It's all part of a process, there may be a way forward, so there's stuff to chase but it all feels very uphill and upheaval-ish.
I fetched Ben from school. Still it rained. The boys used to have a book called "The Other Ark" by Lynley Dodd and it began with the line, "it rained and it rained, it bucketed down, teeming in torrents on mountains and town". I find it very hard not to say that now when it's raining heavily, as you can see from my Haiku! As I hadn't taken a photo until after Ben's tea, I thought I wonder if there's a puddle or something in the garden.. (spoken like a true blipper!) and I was rather smug to find a tiny little snail enjoying our sage and a bit of a wash, I suspect.
