Camino Português - Day 1

Day one of our Camino Português, 24km (14.8 miles) from Balugães to Ponte de Lima. A very pleasant (and very hot!) walk through farmland and forest. I love the vegetation, and all the churches are beautiful. We were joined by John from Dublin and had a very companionable day. We arrived in Ponte de Lima on the Sunday of the annual Feiras Novas which bring in thousands of people. We didn't see much of of the parade but there is a huge market. Two of us went stayed out a bit longer to soak the atmosphere and saw some of the local traditional dances.
