Time for a Cuppa

My mother used to collect teapots, which means we now collect them.

She had never so many as to have a large collection; rather, an assortment of ones she liked or was given (and hopefully liked).

This is one that we gave her.

We often joked that she would live longer than the Queen, as they were roughly contemporaneous (she didn’t). My Mum was one or two years older, with a disdain for royalty although she did not mind being treated like a queen.

This image is for Tiny Tuesday where the optional theme is Fall/Autumn. This is a little challenging for those of us in the southern hemisphere, so you get this teapot instead. It is at least tiny — 8cm (just over 3") from the base to the top of the handle. So, if you’re after a cuppa, it will have to be a wee one.

Autumn, or what the Americans call Fall, can’t help but bring to mind the turning colours (colors) and eventual falling of the leaves.

We once took a leaf-peepers vacation in New England, travelling through Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine. We were lucky and had timed our trip just right. Seeing the masses of red and orange leaves was simply breathtaking, and a sight I hope never to forget.
