Whangamata
We had the need to go to Thames today to take my SiL to a hospital appointment. We came home the long way round via Whangamata because as children, my husband's family had their summer holidays here and its been many years since my SiL has visited. She recognized very little of the town because of the huge growth and popularity as a holiday destination with many new holiday homes.
She did recognise the wharf, though, Nothing much has changed there.
We watched this dog with his life jacket on, jump off a yacht and run freely until his owner called him back. His life jacket conveniently had a handle on the back, I suppose to get him out of the water should he fall in.
We liked the signs on the wharf. As sightseers it wasn't clear were we needed to go.
We saw a pohutukawa in flower.
