Rip it Up ...

... and start again.

One of the first things we had to do when we moved to this house 18 years or so ago was to get a new resin-bound drive laid. The existing rough driveway had been gravelled and that's awful unless you have a well prepared flat surface. Being on a steep valley side, there's nothing flat here, this view from above is deceptive and seems to have flattened the angles. 

We recently decided to make the entrance wider and have the parking area enlarged by taking away some of the raised flower beds. They'll build a new retaining wall and we'll have the area paved with blocks. Once it's all done we'll be able to take either of our cars out without having to shuffle them about. What a treat!
