Cortège

No, I’ve not turned into a royalist overnight, but felt it was a historical moment to capture the hearse of the Queen with outriders, range rovers, spare hearse, breakdown truck, ambulance and police with two helicopters in the air as it passed by my favourite local hill walk . (Moncrieffe Hill). It was also great to see the countryside of Dee-side, Angus, and Perth and Kinross from the air. And the majestic sight of the Queensferry Crossing, the rail and the old Forth bridge from the sky. Doubt I would have tuned in if this was from anywhere else in the UK.

The two guys saluting on top of the truck are from the Royal Company of Archers and I believe they are playing a part at St Giles.

I have no flowery words about the Queen. It’s sad that a family is grieving for a much loved relative. I like that she loved Balmoral as it’s in Scotland, she obviously had a quick wit and sharp personality but she carefully planned and stopped the bill that her great personal wealth was not divulged to the nation. she presided over a nation that has an explosion of food banks and this winter heat banks. She signed off on many bills that would cause people hardship these past 12 years (and more) - she got her advisors involved if it was anything affecting ‘the Firm’. She paid off millions to bale out her sick son Andy, to a woman he had never met and had no knowledge of, and he, who has the audacity to stand and wave at the crowds. Yuk!

Anyway, we now have Charlie, age 73 with much dirt attached to him over the years. Squidgygate springs to mind! Am sure this is coming up in Season 5 of The Crown. If we are to suffer a King Charles then hopefully he looks at the very long list of ‘working Royals’ (hmmm), and has a good cull.

Popped out to the Strawberry Shop after our walk for berries. The locally picked blackberries are the most amazing flavour and got there just in time before it shut.

We’ve started watching Stateless on Netflix and it’s sooo good. Very rare we get something we both enjoy and more important holds my attention.
