Humming

The ivy is covered in flowers and was humming with insects - which is as close as I'm likely to get to wildlife photography. Saturday morning was dull, misty and distinctly autumnal, but the day warmed into a beautiful, mellow afternoon, sunny, warm and very still. I had too many indoor jobs to enjoy it as I should have liked, but I managed tea on the balcony with my book, which was lovely. We ate our first corn cobs - sweet and tasty. We don't grow a lot of corn, and the plants have not grown very tall this year, but these first cobs were well formed with plump kernels (thanks to P's assiduous watering).
