Helping
It is a busy time for the Oxford family, they have just moved into their new home and, until the carpet folks arrive, they are camping amidst boxes. On top of that Mum and Dad both have work trips this week so Euan is staying with us for the first time without them.
Some months ago Becky told me about a friend who was caught up in a traffic jam for several hours with his baby and toddler, nightmare scenario. So when she decided to drive up here, I booked the train and went down yesterday, coming back with them today. It was an awful journey on the M1. For twenty or so miles in the Midlands it was three/four lanes of lots of trucks with many moving out into the fast lane to overtake and slowing the traffic down. Hellish driving conditions for Becky. Eventually we caught up with two huge wide loads being escorted by vans in the centre of the now three lanes, which gave the reason for all that stopping and starting and dangerous changing of lanes for all that distance. I was glad I had taken the decision to go down and come back up with them. Thankfully Euan slept for a short while and then was kept occupied with songs, stories and Duggee on the I pad.
So now we are home and we will see how Euan gets on when Mum heads north tomorrow. He toured the house when he arrived, remembering the teapot hole and the 'Please Mind Your Head'. He's said hello to Shep the Bunny, ridden his bicycle up the street to the wood and back, had his bath and is now asleep. My blip was taken whilst Tony was serving up dinner when Euan was washing the windows for me.
