2022 Sunday — A Day to Remember

We woke at 5:00 to let little Chloe out the back door; she took one look at the rain soaking our backyard and decided against going out.

We began the morning with the Sunday Worship Celebration (live-streaming) from Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, California. The worship music revealed to us that the theme was going to be commemorative, and it was. Later in the service Pastor Jack Hibbs explained why 21-years-ago the terrorists selected the date of September 11th and he explained something that most Americans don't realize, that the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution does not address separation of church and state, and then he explained many Bible verses. All of it was very informative and causes me to want to be a better student of God’s Word and of World History. Here’s the link to this Sunday Celebration https://youtu.be/aZkC31vBLhU The early morning rain had stopped and then it started again.

Shortly after 10:00 a.m. our backyard contractor, Mercado, arrived to explain that he had a work crew, they all stopped for breakfast at Martin’s here in Cayucos, and then the rain started again and they all decided to go home. We had mixed feelings: disappointed that no work would be accomplished but delighted to have a quiet day.

In the afternoon we watched the chauffeured buses bring groups of people to our neighborhood to tour thru Dr. Mark & Karen's home, which is across the street and north two houses from us. The bus would drop off people and then load the group who had already toured the home. All throughout the afternoon we also watched as a couple people would deliver the catered hors d' oeuvres that were being served to the "Home Tour" guests. I had thought about attending the home tour, but actually we attend many real estate open houses and get to "tour" many Cayucos homes without purchasing a ticket.

Late afternoon we packed the pups into the car to head for Tidelands Park in Morro Bay to walk beside the harbor and back bay. As we arrived we realized we had missed a big, very big annual event -- the "Avocado & Margarita Festival." All the tent tops, pop-ups, and canopy covers were being disassembled. We walked the pups, I took lots of photos; then enjoyed a delicious dinner at Blue Sky Bistro, and finally a beautiful sunset.

Good night from California's Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
