Red-Breasted Nest Builder

This American Robin was constructing her nest on the Rail Trail in Amherst, not far from Station road. I'm not sure of her gender, but she was incredibly industrious, bringing all sorts of material. The nest itself is below to the right, out of the frame.

Our walk was relatively brief, since we left early in the afternoon to attend Marylee's 50th high school reunion in Pennsylvania (overnighting in Westchester on way). Guests for dinner, so more tomorrow.
