Autumn woodland
A mistier start to the morning but nice for a walk through St Ives Woods with a bit of blackberrying along the way.
Lots of other autumnal fruits to be seen and the wild cyclamen were just inside the gates of the cricket ground.
A circuit of Betty’s woods where the new trees seem to have suddenly shot up after the clearance of diseased trees about 5 years ago.
We then walked on to the Ivy Kitchen for a coffee sitting outside as the sun was starting to appear by then.
Lots of the fruits of autumn to be seen but the stream near Baxter’s pond is still dry and Coppice Pond was looking very low with the carved wooden fish almost high and dry.
Returning via the village so Chris could get his steak from the local butcher as he is providing the beef casserole for tomorrows luncheon club.
Watched the Queen being borne through London to lie in State in Westminster Hall.
About to go out to meet friends for an early evening drink then I shall have to decide what to do with my blackberries.
