We are really good at ceremony
I am always very impressed with our military, and the people that plan it all, when it comes to pomp and circumstance.
Be it the Trooping of the Colour, Coronations, Royal Funerals, Jubilee's of which HM Queen Elizabeth had a few, we (the British) carry them off with great precision and flair.
Today I watched, start to finish, the procession that took Her Majesty on her last journey from Buckingham Palace. Incredibly impressive, incredibly sad.
Well done all involved, especially those chaps carrying the coffin. Do you know it is a coffin inside a coffin? A wooden covered, lead lined, coffin which fits inside the Oak coffin which is covered with the Royal Standard. It's why there are 8 pall bearers instead of the normal 6. No wonder they were sweating by the time they placed it in Westminster Hall.
RIP Your Majesty, missing you already.
