Still hoping

We went back to the allotment this morning to have another look for the hoopoe. We were lucky that a very nice allotment holder allowed us in. He gave us an up to date state of play. The bird had not been seen yet, and when it does appear it is always at the top, so we were grateful he had let us go there. We stayed for quite a while but unfortunately didn’t see it. It was very pleasant to be there on a fine morning with a view across to Dartmoor and in the foreground- Plainmoor - the home of Torquay United FC.
Later we went for a walk to Greenway - Agatha Christie’s holiday home, and as the sun shone, moved on in the evening, to Fishcombe Cove Cafe for a burger night
