Wattle Logs
The weather has turned cold. Autumn was brief this year. Firewood can become an obsession. Almost all my heating comes from the kitchen stove. These logs are from a tree we cut down because it was too close to the road.
Mostly the wood I can buy is too long for the stove's firebox, which means I have to cut bits off. From the heap to the sawhorse, to the shed stack, to the verandah, to the hearth, with the wheelbarrow between, I handle each log 5 to 7 times. Great work for cold weather. Very satisfying.
